Abe woke up Monday December 27th with a low grade fever and cough. He was ok during the day but as the evening approached he got worse. His temp. got up to 101.6 which is very high for Abe. He would moan and toss and turn in his sleep. We knew a trip to the Dr. or possibly the ER was in our future. We managed to cool him down enough to stay home and go to the walk in clinic early on Tuesday. His Dr. was out so we saw another Dr. at his office. Thank the Good Lord that she ordered a Flu swab (as painful as it was for Abe!) It was positive for Type B Flu. So, with a prescription of Tamiflu we were on our way. Monday night he was so pitiful with a high fever and just felt rotten. Tuesday he layed around but was able to be up some. As bedtime got closer and closer he felt worse. Why is it that the fever always gets higher at night??? Wed. was the same - played a little and layed around watching cartoons. As soon as the sun went down he was so pitiful. Even crying when he got up to go to the potty! High fever, chills and aches pains. Thursday his fever was down a little more and he played more than the past few days combined. We even built a chair fort. By Thurs. night he only had a low grade fever and had even helped Mommy clean a little on the house! He was feeling a lot better!! Friday and Saturday were more of the same. Up most of the day and then fever and congested cough in the evening and during the night. Sunday he has been laying around all day with a mild fever. Planning a trip to his Dr. Monday!

Ended up taking him back to his pediatrician who said he had a Sinus Infection. With another prescription he was much better within a couple of days and returned to school. Forgot to mention that the poor thing had the stomach bug and wasn't able to go to his Christmas Party at school right before Christmas break. His Christmas break was spent pretty much being sick!!
