Story Time

Catch the Reading Bug is the theme this year for the summer reading program at the local library. Abe is so into books that this is right up his alley. Speaking of alley's, Abe likes for me to park behind the library so we can go through the "tunnel" wall.
Here is Abe making his lightning bug craft.
Tate gave me a little "cheese" grin for the picture. Check out his new haircut, looks a lot like Abe's. We (the Momma's) think they have the exact same hair color.

This group gets together every Thursday for the summer. This week Ms. Sharon read them a story, had a ladybug puppet, gave away some prizes, gave each child a take home bug that grows in water and they got to make a craft. There were 15 kids in his group. There were some older kids that tagged along with the families but they didn't participate in the story time. Abe was one of the lucky winners drawn out to pick a prize. He picked a book, of course!
You can purchase a "Catch the Reading Bug" shirt to wear too. It happens to be Abe's favorite color, Green!! He is a lucky boy!
One week they are suppose to bring a worm for a worm race. Abe is super excited about this. Not sure if anyone else will participate or not, some people are grossed out by bugs and worms. I know Abe is counting down the days. If anyone asks him about going to the library he tells them that he has to take a worm one day!

I really think we will try to attend this week. I think Carter would love it because he, too, loves books! We actually walk to the library once a week and it's one of his favorite things to do...ah, someday I will wish it were so easy to entertain him. :-)
