Nana brought Abe a goodie bag since he wasn't feeling so great. He got new Tigger sunglasses, books, hotwheels and Valentine Cards (to make craftas with.) Look close at how his ears are bent under the ear piece. He hasn't figured out how to put them on correctly. All last summer I would look in the backseat of the car and he would have his sunglasses on top of his ears!

After Daddy got home...
Playing with an injured arm...
ANOTHER trip to the ER
Monday night we went to Alex's Birthday Party at Bouncing B's. Abe only made it down the slide one time. With that one trip he was injured. He landed on his right side and then 2 or 3 boys landed on top of him before he could get up. I got him up and he cried and cried. I sit down with him for several minutes and thought he would get back up and want to play some more. WRONG! He couldn't quit crying. We headed home and called Chad on the way. Abe wouldn't let you touch his entire arm and he said he couldn't straighten it out. We were dealing with an injured 3 year old. So, we weren't exactly sure how bad it was.
We went to the local ER to be told it would be a 3 hour wait! OK, you can't wait 3 hours with a possible broken arm! (At this time we really didn't know.) So, we then went to M-Ville ER and were seen in less than 10 minutes! Talk about a difference. We had X-Rays and were told that he had a sprained wrist and elbow! This is when we got this little sling.
He wore the sling home and then it was time to take it off. They said he didn't have to sleep in it. Sleep, well lets just say that night we didn't get much of it! What little sleep that we got was in the recliner. The next morning Abe was still pitiful and I babied him all day. He couldn't even use the potty without help. We watched lots of cartoons, played blocks (one handed)...
Daddy returns from work that evening and it was a different story. Abe started using his hand! We kind of laughed to each other at first but then Abe said his arm was healed! Hallelujah! I know that his arm was still sore that morning but I think he played me all day! I am such a sucker.
Now, he hasn't complained at all since Tuesday. I am so thankful that it wasn't as bad as we initially thought. I had plans to follow up with an Orthopaedic (like the papers and the nurse from the ER said to) and was worrying about how long the recovery was going to be. The papers said up to 6 weeks! Thank God that he is tough and is fully healed! God is Good!

Baby it's cold outside!
These are not the best quality pictures but were too cute not to share. Abe was catching the snow on his tongue in the last shot.
Notice how red his face is. We would only let him stay out for less than 10 minutes at a time because his face would freeze! As soon as we would get inside he would be saying his face was burning.
No matter what the weather, he thinks he HAS to be wearing that lovely camo jacket!

Birthday Boy
Here is the little wild Birthday Boy! Can you tell we really need a haircut??? Hopefully we will be visiting Ronda this week to get a little trimmed off. The birthday party went really good. We had a nice time with family and friends. We did miss some due to the flu. (We missed you Missy, Ashley, Bobby, Makayla.)
The last picture was of Abe testing out the cupcakes before the party. I had gone down to the church to take some things prior to the party and Abe was lovin all the John Deere decorations! He kept saying "Look Mommy at all the tractors," not realizing they were his from home.
He got so many nice presents and loved each and every one of them! Okay, I liked the clothes more than he did but that is normal! ha ha We appreciate everyone celebrating our little guy with us. What will the theme be next year?? We have had a farm theme, Caillou and now John Deere. I am sure he will be into some cartoon theme again next year.
A special Thank You to Marla for all of your hard work. I really appreciate all that you did to make the party run so smooth and for the cleaning up afterwards!

Afternoon with Maddie
We got to pick Maddie up from Preschool yesterday. Abe has been wanting to pick her up for some time now. We picked her up several times last year but this is the first for this school year. It is a big deal to be the first child picked up in the pick up line. The teacher brings them out to your car. So, being the good aunt that I am I got in line at 1:35 and we waited until 2:15 when school was dismissed.
I let Abe out of his carseat since we were going to be sitting there for a while. He played and climbed into the very back of the car. The he yells out "I gotta poop!" We have worked really hard at potty training and we were about to ruin it! He had on his nice green boxer briefs, jeans and tennis shoes. (I mention all of the clothes because he is one of these kids that has to take off everything below the waist to use the bathroom.) I quickly hopped to the backseat and put him on a pull up diaper. He must have thought I was a crazy woman. He told me he didn't want to poopie in a diaper. After reassuring him that it was okay he finally did. Poor thing. He only poops on his little potty at home so I didn't even try to take him into Maddie's school.
Last night and all day long today we have gone back to using the potty. I am one proud Momma!

another BOO BOO
This past weekend Abe got ANOTHER Boo Boo. He was at Nana's playing with Maddie. They were playing some game they made up called Freeze Dance. They would dance around and then someone would yell FREEZE. Then they would stop. Anyway, Chad was a foot or two away from Abe when he ran and fell right into Nana's coffee table. Poor thing always gets hurt. Could have something to do with him being so rough. It is better (see the last two pictures, they were taken yesterday) but still bruised.

Valentine's
These are the Valentine's that Nana brought to Abe.
He loves anything pertaining to crafts so he was in heaven.
These are from Pa and Grammy.
Kisses, his favorite!
We were being goofy with the camera. I thought this one was sweet. I do not get to be on the other side of the camera very often because I am always the photographer.
Notice the chubby cheeks? He had 2 Hershey Kisses in his mouth!
His Mamaw and Papaw sent him a Valentine in the mail but it hasn't got here yet. We will be checking the mail for it tomorrow. Abe loves to get mail. Mamaw and Papaw Steele also sent him a Valentine card.
We have had a nice Valentine's Day and we appreciate everything that Abe got and the love that everyone shows him.
